Beach Eucharist

Come and join us as we celebrate and worship God in Jesus Christ on the beach!  All are welcome to join us.  Here are a few things to know:

Wait, where is this being held?

  • At the Devil’s Kitchen State Park Vista Point in Bandon, Oregon.  You can type this into your GPS or following these directions: from Bandon, head south on U.S. Highway 101 for 1.7 miles.  Turn right onto Seabird Drive and follow that for .8 miles.  Turn left onto Beach Loop Road and go another 1.1 miles.  Then, turn right onto Saturn Lane and there you are!

Okay, I can get that far.  Where on the beach will you be?

  • We’ll be on the little grassy hill just off of the parking lot.  Look for the people setting up a table and a guy with a priest collar on!

I’d love to come, but I’m not an Episcopalian.  And what’s the Eucharist?

  • You don’t have to be an Episcopalian to join us!  As for the Eucharist, it’s also called “the Lord’s Supper” in other parts of the Christian Church.  It’s our celebration of Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  It’s the main way that we celebrate God’s love in our lives and deepen our relationship with him.

  • We’ll be using yeast bread for the Eucharist, but we’ll also have some gluten free wafers.

This is the Eucharist, so how should I dress?  Can I bring anything?

  • Come prepared as you would be for the beach.  Feel free to bring sunglasses and a hat (it’ll probably be sunny!), and definitely bring something to sit on like a chair or a blanket.  If you want to have a picnic afterwards, bring some grub, too.  And, hey, maybe bring a friend, too!

I have some questions!  Who can I ask?
