Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the whole earth.
Sing to the Lord and bless God’s Name;
proclaim the good news of God’s salvation from day to day.

Psalm 96:1-2

Episcopalians in throughout Oregon are putting together a poetry compilation for Lent, Holy Week, and Easter – and we’d like you to join us. Our theme is “The Seasons of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter”, but poems on our Episcopal life in Oregon will also be considered. Poems will be bound and sold online, the proceeds going to Calder Arts, an Oregon-based arts program geared towards young people.. The deadline for poems is Ash Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. Whether you are a professional poet or just like to dabble, join us as we sing poetry unto the Lord!

Send poems to either stjamescoquille@gmail.com or mothersara@gmail.com. All Episcopalians worshiping in Oregon are welcome to send in their work. Please include, along with your poem, your name and the church you attend.

This project originally began as an Advent and Christmas collection, but due to time constraints we’ve moved the project to focus on Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. That said, if you’ve written a poem for Advent, Christmas, or any other part of the Church Year (or aspect of your life as a disciple of Jesus Christ in Oregon), please send them in as well! The collection hopes to reflect our shared life in Jesus Christ!

How do I purchase a copy?

We’ll post more information about purchasing the poetry collection as the deadline draws near.

When will the compilation be published?

We are aiming to have the compilation ready for Ash Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. More information will be posted here in the following weeks.
